Jason is awarded the Craig Kelly Award!

Jason and his family participate each year in the Legendary Banked Slalom, a snowboard race at the Mt Baker Ski Area, now in its 35th year. This year’s race took place February 3-5, 2023 after a 2 year hiatus due to Covid. Each year, the race draws amateur and pro racers from all over the world and is a highlight of the Mt Baker community.

At this year’s event, Jason was the recipient of the Craig Kelly Award, a “lifetime award given each year at the LBS, recognizing an individual from the Northwest with deep ties to Mt Baker whose contribution has advanced snowboarding culture, locally and beyond.” The award is named after the late world champion local snowboarder Craig Kelly. This year’s award was presented to Jason by Craig’s daughter Olivia. You can read about past winners of this prestigious award here; Jason is honored to be a part of this elite group of people.

An extremely fitting award for Jason, who has lived his entire life in the PNW, and whose personal and professional relationships seamlessly overlap. As many know, Jason loves his family, his community and the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of this magical area. Whether you see him on his snowboard in the winter or his bike in the summer, it is awesome to see his investment in the PNW be recognized with such prestige. Congrats JLo! Well deserved!
